The goal of slavereparations.org is to establish a nonprofit
organization to explore the issue of slavery reparations in America.
We want to create an opportunity for all people of goodwill to finally
have a long-needed national public conversation about reparations. Please
join us in this effort to challenge our assumptions, beliefs, and
expectations about reparations.
We all long to heal the scars of racial bondage and repair the legacy
of slavery in the United States. Reparations are an important issue
needing honest compassionate engagement by all people seeking to
resolve a difficult longstanding problem in our society. Many
strongly feel the US needs to make up for its past history of slavery. People
of goodwill are defined not by commonly agreed on answers but by
important questions.
We understand reparations cannot change the past but they can certainly
affect the present. There remain today many examples of cultural
and economic racial divisions in America. People of honest intent
recognize wide gaps still exist today in economics, crime, education,
and personal security.
There are many current actions that would go a long way toward overcoming
America’s legacy and would benefit African Americans in substantial
ways. Those actions include criminal-justice reform, job training,
college scholarships, and inner-city K-12 education reforms.
We desire to move beyond questions of past slave-holders and slavery
victims. Our moral intuitions recognize past oppressors and victims
However, there is a current insistent and obvious need for
reconciliation actions. America needs to have a responsible public
conversation about reparations. This is your invitation to
help us create a national non-profit non-partisan organization that
focuses on equal opportunities for all.
Thank you for your help and any assistance you can offer.
Donate what you are able and share our efforts with everyone you
know.

YOUR VALUABLE CONTRIBUTIONS WILL BE USED AS FOLLOWS:
STAGE 1 Goal is $500,000 in
total contributions.
A charitable non-profit corporation will be created as soon as funds
are available along with a three-member board of directors. This
non-profit will then file for federal IRS tax-exempt status to insure
contribution deductibility. This corporation and board will carry
forward formal governance for the Reparations Fund. A CPA and recognized
Accounting firm will be hired to prepare and report on all financial
activities. A money market fund at Ally bank has been created to
fund these efforts. .
STAGE 2 Goal is $5,000,000
in total contributions
If $5,000,000 is not contributed by January 1, 2022, the corporation
will be closed and all remaining funds will be contributed to Howard
University which is a private, federally chartered historically
black university in Washington, D.C.
STAGE 3 Goal is $50,000,000
in total contributions
A new replacement 9 member board of directors for the non-profit
parent organization will be chosen at the end of this stage. Four
board members shall be chosen in order from the largest contributors
to the non-profit organization. Four additional board members will
be chosen at large from all of the remaining contributors as drawn
randomly by the accounting firm. The ninth board member shall be
the founder organizer and GoFundMe creator. This board of directors
will have complete oversight of all on-going management activities
of the organization.
STAGE 4 and all ongoing permanent
operations.
The organization will seek additional contributions from private
and public funding sources.
The board of directors shall decide all future fundraising and distribution
efforts. It shall also determine future funding schedules, and financial
goals, and budgeting for the non-profit organization. The board
shall also address important policy questions and the optimum usage
of contributed funds.
The non-profit organization and board of directors will explore
the following questions:
1. What is the optimum best use of reparations funds?
2. Who should receive reparation benefits? .
